KDE Meetup is an event for Qt/KDE contributors and open source enthusiasts to meet
up, share their knowledge, contribute, learn, play, have fun and create limitless
possibiliies using Qt and KDE.
KDE Meetup is the first large scale open source Meetup in Gujarat and the largest meetup of KDE contributors in India since conf.kde.in in 2011. It will run for 2 days with talks on the latest KDE developments, sessions on how you can start contribuing to open source, coding sessions and workshop. The main objecive is to organize an all-inclusive event on Qt and KDE that would cater to newbies as well as experienced folks and to introduce them to the world of infinite possibiliies of open source development.

In its constant efforts to provide informative and interactive technical sessions for enthusiastic students to learn and explore the technologies shaping the world today, GDG DA-IICT brings you its next event on HTML 5 on Sunday, 6th January,2013.
The workshop would cover the basics of HTML5 and will go on to highlight the advance features. The day will help you understand the new features in HTML5, from audio and video to more powerful forms and new structural elements. You’ll gain an understanding of the new semantics and get an insight into how new features should be implemented. Focusing on the practicalities of using HTML5 today, this workshop will benefit any student, professional or a web designer who wants to stay up-to-date with the latest web standards.

The event would answer the main question of "Why FOSS?"
We are very proud that DA-IICT holds the record for the selection of maximum number of students from India in GSOC(Google Summer of Code) last year. Keeping in view, the importance of the Open-Source projects, We would be introducing the participants to FOSS culture and get them familiar with indepensable tools such as GIT and IRC(Internet Relay Chat) .
Further, experienced GSOCers will take a session to acquaint you with the procedure, requisite and knowledge to get selected in this prestigious programme to spend an awesome summer with GSoC. This will answer all your basic questions like how to apply, how to prepare for it, what all is required to get selected, how you should approach to any organisation, etc.
This session does not require any registration. It is open for all.
The main aim of our first event is to get the developers started on Google technologies.
The event will comprise of introductory sessions on HTML5, Android, GWT and Google App Engine.
There will also be a session on How to use Technology to remain Socially active.
There are lots of Google Goodies on offer.
